“Bilche” is an old Appenzeller name for birch trees.Our “Bilche” suite is the largest and most exclusive room in the hotel. It offers a gorgeous view of the lovely, primeval birches in front of the hotel. The perfect blend of ancient and modern elements will satisfy your every wish. The “Stobete” is a local Sennen tradition and the highlight of the Alpine summer. It originated because folk from the Sennen region would always visit each other and gather to sit together in the “Stobe”.Our “Stobete” is a beautiful, original Appenzeller parlour. You will be transported back to a world that seems more innocent and genuine than ours today. The large, comfortable room with an additional pullout sofa offers plenty of space and comfort.

The former owner of the neighbouring property earned the nickname “Hambartli” because of his bewhiskered, old-timey appearance. This name has been used for the property ever since.Our “Hambartli” is located in the new part of the guesthouse. Great attention to detail was used to refinish and reuse old wood, creating a unique and charming ambience.

A real nosy parker, you could say.Our “Backnasli” is located in the new part of the guesthouse. “Zäuerle” or “Zauren” is the old Appenzeller variation of outdoor yodelling, which has been around for centuries.The ambience in our “Zäuerli” is just as traditional as this custom. The spacious room, completely furnished in pinewood, is extremely warm and cosy and is the epitome of an Appenzeller bedroom.

The word “Bickli” is an original Appenzeller expression and describes something beautiful and refined, such as an elegant article of clothing, a valuable piece of furniture or a lovingly prepared fresh-baked treat.The “Bickli” is our smallest room and is ideally suited for single travellers and business people staying 1 or 2 nights. The cosy, homely atmosphere with slanted ceilings fosters a sense of wellbeing and relaxation after a busy day.
