With great, youthful enthusiasm, we took over the Bären in 1973, now in the fourth generation. After some urgent, gentle renovations, our almost 100-year-old Appenzell-style restaurant was restored to its former glory and inaugurated as a restaurant. After 36 years, we decided to close the restaurant and convert our business into a guesthouse. In spring 2010, we reopened our business with nine beautiful guest rooms. Thus, we spent a total of 51 years at the Bären with a great deal of passion, countless wonderful encounters, and unforgettable moments. Now it is time for us to pass the house on to new hands. With mixed feelings, we say goodbye as hosts of the Bären. Our greatest concern has always been to offer our guests a warm and familiar atmosphere – a home away from home. The fact that so many of you have accompanied us over the years is the greatest gift for us. ``` We are delighted that Carmen Löpfe will continue to run the Bären with just as much passion and dedication as of April 1, 2025. With fresh ideas and an equally big heart for hospitality, the Bären will continue its proven quality – and perhaps even add a few new highlights.
